Demolition work on the existing vacant factory buildings began in May this year. Further applications will be required to confirm details of the new buildings, but with consent for the principle of the development now approved by the council, construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the first businesses anticipated to occupy the site from 2028.

Goodman appointed contractor Erith Group to carry out the demolition works. Work has started by clearing material from inside the factory buildings, before the buildings are removed later this year. As part of the works, historical items from the Vauxhall factories will be preserved, while construction materials will be reused and recycled on site where possible.
